Cultivating personal femininity, a practice.

Updated: Oct 17, 2021

"With great power comes great responsibility.”

It is first important to state that these views are my own. This insight is my perspective from my personal journey to discovering femininity. Cultivating, creating a sense of, and blossoming within my femininity has become a great source of power for me. The definition of the word alone alludes to the nature of feminity relying solely on biology. The feminine. We are female by nature, feminine by will.

The receptive, open, feeling, emotional, creative, intuitive, healing, graceful nature of the feminine aspect….to the naked eye, should be qualities that come naturally to those that identify with them. However, it is important to create a definition of what femininity represents to you specifically. creating a definition not based on any social construct is not entirely impossible but like most things require work.

Realize that ability and will are two different things.

The connection to the femininity or the further expression of the feminine within ourselves skyrockets us into the pockets of power that are necessary for transformation. Necessary for us to be the best we can be to ourselves and to our families. Necessary for the work of moving more towards understanding aspects of self. This aspect is also the storehouse for our creativity and abundance. connection to inner femininity is not always inherent.

"We are the sole caretakers of our internal gardens, it is dependent upon us and us alone to cultivate." - The Cosmic Serpent

Femininity. A set of attributes, behaviors, and roles generally associated with women and girls. Although femininity is socially constructed, some research indicates that some behaviors considered feminine are biologically influenced.

Foraging for seeds.

I connect deeply to the aspect of the feminine within. The beautiful pool of femininity inside, deep and swollen..can be swum in forever. Femininity. as described above, is a social construct as are most ideals. Sparking the femininity within can be approached in several ways. Find the way that speaks to you, within your definition. I connect to my experiences through the lens of femininity as it is the breath of the divine feminine aspect within this experience for myself.

Understanding the feminine allows us to thrive in its nature, take the responsibility, and never feel or express victimhood in any capacity. This is true knowledge of self. Who are you in the feminine? What does her voice sound like? Where does she fit into your perspective of what and who you truly are? Learn to discern. Learn to separate the voice of others from your own.

The narrative of angry, displaced women is the foot on the pedal speeding us away from our nature. Listen to your intuition. If creating a garden of sacred femininity to sit within is your intention, let the inner voice be the guide.

The over toxic need to weaponize aspects of the social "feminine" construct is also a sign the word needs redefinition for you. Use the associations you find within your definition as strengths, not weaknesses.

We often commit the sin of inauthenticity to maintain our relationship with ourselves. This aspect, coupled with pressure from society waters down our view of true femininity. This is all a part of the beautifully full, fulfilling journey to the self. Find what's been buried. Find what rings true. No matter what is popular or accepted.

Femininity to me is not an orientation and certainly not based on sex. It is an essence, just as the yin. It is the receptive nature of the hexagrammal stack in IChing, the broken line…the intention behind the result. Femininity, in my opinion, is the fullness. It is for women an inner oasis, an aspect of the divine expressed. In western culture, feminism has attempted to redefine the aspects of feminine nature in the pursuit of an unrealistic, noninclusive resemblance of equality. This will in itself be an entirely different post, but I'll say this. Cultivating femininity has become far more of a task in this environment for those that choose to do so. Women are often advised to turn away from the essence of femininity as it makes us inferior, makes us, unlike men. The fact is, women are not men. Orientation aside. Nature vs Intention. If acceptance and knowledge of SELF are your pure intention, you will realize that you…your orientation, your identity as a whole is merely an expression of the all. It is not to be clung to as we do so desperately, seeking individuality. ensure you are hearing the right voices when taking your "own" advice.

During your journey, define first what your picture of feminity looks like to you.
